On January 2nd last year I set an intention to write a blog post every week, so I was gratified to look back on the archives for Drawing on Grief to find 53 posts for 2013. Hooray for me. Such is the power of setting out to do something and following through. Not only do I get to pat myself on the back, I have the satisfaction of knowing my writing has improved, the blog is maturing and more people are reading my blurbs. I’m feeling more confident about my book as I start to get readers comments back, and I’m dipping my toes into the idea of writing more often about death for other blogs.
It’s a simple idea, but one that I think is underrated, that making a commitment and following through is really the key to getting where I want to go. So here I am, raising a glass to another year of weekly posts, a commitment I am happy to make with a little more excitement and a little less trepidation this time.
